Kamala Beach – a picturesque beach, located in 16 kilometers from the airport, which is 15 minute drive to the north of Patong. On the southern edge of the beach early in the morning You can watch fishermen putting the nets. Twice a week (usually on Wednesdays and Saturdays afternoon) local market opens – which is a very vivid and interesting event, allowing the tourists feel the local life, communicate with friendly villagers and buy fruits, vegetables and sweets. Famous park Phuket FantaSea is located nearby, reflecting Thailand’s unique features.
Patong Beach - is the most famous island’s beach, located 15 kilometers to the south of Phuket city, is a wonderful combination of beautiful coast, washed by Andaman Sea sparkling waters and high number of various entertainments for tourists: different sport activities, shops, restaurants and night clubs. Daytime: You can ride wave runner, fly on the parachute above the bay, play beach volleyball or mini-golf. Nighttime: spend time in one of the numerous restaurants, bars and clubs, offering different music and entertaining programs – from live piano music and jazz band concerts to colorful shows in cabarets and night dances. Patong’s restaurants represent culinary kinds – You can find traditional cuisine dishes, including famous Thai noodles and rice, and delicacies made of select seafood, and French, Italian cuisine dishes, as well as Indian and Mexican cuisines. The only minus of the beach is that because of its popularity and high number of water activities coastal waters are often not quite clear.
Kata Beach - is a beach with perfect white sand, situated in a picturesque bay 20 km of Phuket city and divided into two parts: Kata Ai and Kata Noi. Beach waters are perfect for snorkling lovers, and are a favorite place for surfers during rain season, there are a lot of different restaurants, bars and shops there.
Karon Beach - is situated 20 kilometers away from Phuket city. Calm sea during a dry season, white short sand on this rather long but not very crowded beach make it a wonderful place for quiet and pleasant rest. Tourist entertainments are concentrated in three main areas: Karon Plaza, Aroon Plaza and Karon Circle.
Chalong Bay - the largest gulf and the main transport center on Phuket southern edge. It’s a shield protecting a whole ship flotilla from the strong wind: from yachts to tourist boats. This is the place from which boats and ferries go to the islands Phi-Phi, Coral, Mai Thon and Koh Racha. The sea in the gulf is not deep and dirty, during low-tide the sea moves back for almost a kilometer. It’s interesting to look at, but not to swim there.
Rawai Beach – is a kilometer long beach on the very edge of the island, around 17 kilometers away from Phuket city, it’s famous for local “sea gypsies” (before it was a pirating Malanese ethnic group, their village is close to the beach). Local people like to spend time and have picnics on Rawai Beach, and also those who want to leave Phuket city for a day. The beach is not very good, but the sea isn’t deep which is good for bathing children, and it’s protected from the wind. Here You’ll find Thai traditional long-prow boats and modern high-speed boats which You can rent to take a sea-trip to the nearby islands Koh Bon, Coral Island (Koh Hei), Koh Lon or Koh Kaew, and also try traditional Thai cuisine dishes in the numerous cafes along the beach.
Nai Harn Beach – situated on the southern edge of the island, perfect for quiet rest lovers, it’s also a popular berthing place for the expensive yachts. There are several hotels near the beach, and among the shady trees You’ll find cafes and restaurants with Thai cuisine which make the place even more charming.
